About us

A carpet cleaning team that comes to you

California First Carpet Cleaning serves homes and businesses in all 88 cities of Los Angeles County. There is no showroom to visit. The work happens on your floor.

How the work is done

Carpet is cleaned with hot-water extraction, often called steam cleaning. Hot water and cleaning solution go into the carpet, and the wand pulls them back out by suction, along with the loosened dirt. The technician works in overlapping passes. That is why a floor in the middle of a job shows light, fan-shaped bands next to darker carpet that has not been reached yet. The photos on this site show exactly that.

Before the solution goes down, the technician looks over the carpet, including the fiber, the traffic lanes and the spots. Delicate rugs and fabrics get a test on a hidden spot first, because the fiber decides the method.

The Carpet and Rug Institute says drying often takes 6 to 12 hours, and it depends on airflow, humidity and the carpet. We do not promise a drying time for any one floor.

Homes and businesses

We clean residential and commercial carpet, along with area rugs, upholstery and leather, drapes, mattresses, tile and grout. We also handle pet stains and odors, water extraction, air ducts, dryer vents and chimneys. That makes 12 services, and each has its own page.

What customers write about

Reviews often mention friendly technicians, stains that came out, pet stains that faded and a clean smell afterward. Customers review us on Google, and the reviews page has their own words, copied as they wrote them.

  • Allison C.

I particularly liked the way the lead cleaner described the PH balance of the solutions that they were using on our carpets. The acidic neutralizing rinse makes sure the floor doesn’t feel crunchy or sticky when it is dry. That extra step means our floors are very silky and totally residue-free.

  • Crystal M.

My kids have turned the giant living room ottoman into a trampoline and it's forever soiled with imprints. Steam cleaning the hefty cloth removed all the dark grime and restored the original bright blue hue. The furniture which is the focus is clean and the living space appears a lot tidier today.

  • Daniel R.

Thick outdoor seats were covered in tree algae and bird poop. Power-washings of the tough material killed any dirt from outside. We are pleased to be hosting barbecues from our clean chairs again.

What we tell you plainly

Some jobs have limits. Better that you hear them from us before the work than after it.
  • Some stains do not come out, and we will not promise that one will.
  • Rugs are cleaned in your home, or taken off site when one needs a full wash.
  • Air duct cleaning is not a routine job. EPA does not recommend it as routine, and says it can make sense for substantial visible mold, vermin or ducts clogged with dust and debris.
  • After a fire, we can look at what the smoke left behind, but nobody can promise that carpet or upholstery will come fully clean.
We use eco-friendly products, and we stand behind our work with a satisfaction guarantee.
