The line
a clean pass
leaves behind
This is a bedroom floor in the middle of a cleaning, photographed on a job. The gray carpet is part cleaned and part not, so you can see what the wand does and where it stops. Tap the numbers to see what each part shows.
Lighter passes The lighter bands are carpet the wand has already been over. They follow the path of each stroke.
Darker carpet The darker gray toward the right and along the bottom has not been reached yet. It is the same carpet, so the difference you see is what the cleaning changed.
Overlapping fans Each pass overlaps the one before it, which leaves the fan and triangle pattern across the floor. Overlapping is what keeps a stroke-by-stroke job from leaving gaps.

A hallway in the middle of a cleaning. The wand head is at the bottom of the frame. The lighter carpet it has crossed ends in a diagonal line, and the darker carpet beyond it is still waiting.

Local conditions worth knowing about
Three things about living in Los Angeles County are worth knowing before you book a cleaning.
Hard water
LADWP, the city’s water utility, calls anything above 7 grains per gallon hard. Its 2022 averages are about 9 for the San Fernando Valley and western Los Angeles, and about 16 for eastern Los Angeles and the Harbor. Other cities have their own water suppliers, so your number may differ. What matters for carpet either way is the rinse, because detergent left in the fiber pulls dirt back in.
LADWP water quality FAQSanta Ana wind dust
In February 2026, a South Coast air quality advisory warned of Santa Ana gusts up to 45 mph and unhealthy dust levels in parts of South Coastal Los Angeles County. The everyday answer for a dusty week is simple. The Carpet and Rug Institute says vacuuming removes most loose dry soil.
South Coast AQMD advisory, February 3, 2026Wildfire smoke and ash
After a fire, Los Angeles County Public Health advises an N95 mask, gentle sweeping and wet mopping, and a HEPA-filter vacuum rather than a shop or household vacuum. It says to wash or dispose of porous items like linens and carpets, and to call a professional when there is a lot of soot or odor. We can look at what the smoke left behind. Whether a carpet or sofa comes fully clean is something nobody can promise, and we will not either.

A customer, in their words
“My old carpet has a new life now. I was considering replacing it, but I’m glad I tried cleaning first.”
How the visit goes
You call or send the form
Tell us which rooms or pieces, what the floor or fabric is, and what is on it, whether that is pets, a spill or an old stain. The office is open 24 hours, and the form takes requests at any hour.
The technician looks first
Before any solution goes down, the technician checks the fiber, the traffic lanes and the spots. Anything delicate gets a test on a hidden spot.
Hot-water extraction
Hot water and cleaning solution go into the pile, and the wand pulls them back out by suction, in overlapping passes. Those passes are the fan marks in the photo near the top of this page.
Drying
Drying often takes 6 to 12 hours and depends on airflow, humidity and the carpet. Run fans or open windows, and wait until the carpet is dry before you move furniture back.
