Pier crowds, harbor air and very hard groundwater

Redondo Beach is a pier and harbor town. The Municipal Pier and its sandy beach draw most of the visitors, King Harbor sits right beside them, and the Historical Museum is part of the city’s Path of History. North Redondo, South Redondo, Riviera Village and Beryl Heights are all part of our service area. Beach days put sand on shoes and in entryways, and sand is dry soil, which a vacuum removes before any wet cleaning starts.

The climate is mild and shaped by the coast, with about 14 inches of rain a year and only a few days at 90 degrees or hotter. Mild air makes it easy to dry a room with fans and ventilation, although a damp, grey day will slow things down.

Cal Water’s Hermosa-Redondo system blends local groundwater with water bought from the Metropolitan Water District. The groundwater is very hard, about 29 grains per gallon on average, and how hard your own tap runs depends on the blend. Whatever comes out of it, the rinse is the part of a carpet job worth asking about.

Condos, apartments and houses on the same blocks

  1. Close to even between owning and renting

A little over half of homes are owner-occupied, and about two thirds were built before 1980. Older carpet, and the older floors under it, are worth mentioning when you call.

  2. Houses beside big buildings

Four in ten homes are detached houses, and about a third are in buildings of five or more units. For a building, tell the office the floor, the elevator and where visitors park.

  3. Lint in the laundry closet

Home fires that start with a dryer injure more than 300 people a year across the country. Dryer vent cleaning is one of our services, so ask about it when you book the carpet.

What condo and beach-side living tends to need

Carpet cleaning covers bedrooms and living areas, upholstery cleaning handles the sofas and chairs, and dryer vent cleaning takes care of the part of a condo or apartment nobody sees. In a stacked building, water can arrive through a shared ceiling or wall, so say so if that is what happened.

Questions from Redondo Beach

Can you clean carpet in my condo or apartment?
Yes. Residential cleaning covers condos and apartments as well as houses. When you call (844) 966-2005, mention the floor, whether there is an elevator and how many rooms have carpet.
Is it okay to open the windows while the carpet dries?
Only on a dry, sunny day, says the Carpet and Rug Institute. Otherwise run the HVAC fan or other fans, and never close up a room with damp carpet.
Does very hard groundwater matter for carpet cleaning?
The Hermosa-Redondo groundwater averages about 29 grains per gallon, and how much of it reaches your tap depends on the blend. For carpet, the useful question is how the rinse is done, so ask about it.
Do you clean cafes and shops in Riviera Village?
Yes. Commercial carpet cleaning is one of the twelve services, and Riviera Village is inside the service area. Say what the floor gets used for when you call.
Can I send the online form in the middle of the night?
Yes. The form takes requests at any hour, and the office phone line is open around the clock.
